Hello, I am happy that you have taken the time to come to my “about me” page and read a small bit about me and my clinical experience as you decide on a counselor who best fits with your current situation. I am aware that a website is not the most personal of spaces to introduce myself, but I encourage you to take advantage of the free 15 minute phone consultation to connect on a more personal bases.
Here is a brief overview of my clinical experience. It in no way covers it all, but it is a starting point. I am a Clinical Professional Counselor and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor with close to two decades of experience helping people who are struggling with addiction, managing mental health issues ranging from depression, anxiety, PTSD or having specific life difficulties like divorce, empty nesting, loss of job or other life transitions. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling with a specialty in Substance Abuse from Nova Southeastern University in Florida.
I have experience working with men and women, the young and the not so young, and many special populations. I taught at the University of Nevada for 5 years in the addiction studies program. Currently I am a licensed clinical supervisor for interning professionals in the field of substance-use disorders.
My counseling style places you as the author of your change. We will strive together as a like-minded team to develop a plan of action for you to resolve the reason that you are seeking help. We will move at your rate of comfort and follow the direction you choose to manage and maintain the changes you worked hard to achieve. It is always my pleasure to undertake such a journey with my clients.
I invite you to contact me for a confidential discussion about your particular concerns.
